By Megan Gianvito, Chief Marketing Officer at Adapting Social
I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the kickoff for the Intuit Mailchimp Innovation Council, marking the start of a two-year commitment that will help shape the future of marketing tools for small businesses and agencies. This council brings together five global agencies and roughly two dozen international brands, and being invited as a thought leader from an agency perspective was a tremendous honor.
From the moment I arrived in Atlanta, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the culture of innovation at Mailchimp. Even my hotel stay reflected their thoughtful approach: a welcome knock on the door revealed a swag bag complete with a travel battery pack, a refillable water bottle, and a travel speaker – all branded with the council logo. It was a small but meaningful touch, setting the tone for three days of learning, networking, and inspiration.
Building Bonds Over Dinner
The networking began immediately at the Welcome Dinner, where I had (what I think) was the best seat in the house. One side of me was the VP of Product Development, Diana, and on the other – a fellow agency executive from Germany. To say I was impressed is an understatement – I truly enjoyed how engaging our discussion was on how marketing strategies differ globally and hearing perspectives that opened up my mind. The following days, I had the pleasure of attending some smaller scale leadership dinners that deepened the flourishing relationship, but also was filled with conversations and opinions about how the World around us is changing.

Innovation at its Best
While the days were filled with serious strategy, from deep dives into AI’s impact to brainstorming sessions on workflow, the biggest takeaway was Mailchimp’s culture. I found instant inspiration in their HQ’s bright, inviting spaces, and yes, the dedicated Craft Room, where employees are encouraged to put down the keyboard and create art. (And yes, I am now dreaming of AS adding the same thing!) Actually as an art lover myself I was in total awe as we toured their HQ. Each floor, each “section” of the office is covered with different works of art. It was interesting to hear how this was intended to inspire their teams and get them to think more creatively. I could really tell that “creativity” is at the core of Mailchimp’s values!
