Facebook Jumps On The ‘Stories’ Bandwagon

It’s official: Facebook does everything!

Facebook has always been a place to share important moments. Now you can share your highlights and everything in between, too! In yet another move to keep it’s spot as the top social networking site, Facebook has introduced a ‘Facebook Stories’ feature! Like Instagram Stories, the update will allow users to post photos and videos on a personal ‘story’ for 24 hours.

With Facebook Stories, personal and business accounts can share daily moments without overloading their profiles and crowding their feed! You can bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools and and, like Instagram and Snapchat, you can reply directly to someone’s story with a direct message. You can even add Facebook’s version of Snapchat geofilters to photos and videos.

You’ll see stories from people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed from your best friends to your favorite business accounts. When there’s something new to see, their profile photo will have a blue ring around it.

So far, the Stories strategy appears to be working: 150 million people already use Instagram Stories every day, which roughly equals Snapchat’s total user base!

While the test of this feature is beginning only in Ireland, Facebook plans to bring the “new format” to more countries in the coming months. We will keep you updated right here as news updates and, as usual, we will help you adapt to all the social trends!
